CASE STUDY
PROCESS HEATER
SINGAPORE
PROCESS HEATER
Fouled furnace.
After Therma-Chem Treatment
Therma-Chem FS12 cleaned the fouled heater tubes online and maintained the cleanliness throughout the run. IR Scan Images indicate that the tubeskin temperatures for the bottom and mid-section were c.5O°C lower after three months of chemical injection.
The temperatures in the top section of the heater were also lower as indicated by the shift in temperature scale (circled).
Radiant temperature constraint was eliminated and heater duty limitation partly relieved. Furthermore, there were also no plugging issues with the Air Pre-Heater or the ID Fan.
Ultimately, the use of Therma-Chem FS12 resulted in a projected improvement of 0.3 EII points for the refinery.
