U.N. Approved Technology for Reducing Emissions

Therma-Chem’s products have been utilised for both Clean Development Mechanism projects and Joint Implementation initiatives through the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

Through improving boiler efficiency, Therma-Chem ensure that less fuel is burned and subsequently CO2 emissions are reduced.

CDM Projects

The CDM allows emission-reduction projects in developing countries to earn certified emission reduction (CER) credits, each equivalent to one tonne of CO2. These CERs can be traded and sold, and used by industrialised countries to a meet a part of their emission reduction targets under the Kyoto Protocol.

JI Projects

Under a JI agreement between the Danish and Romanian governments, Therma-Chem successfully reduced Carbon emissions by 78,915 tonnes over a three year period on two 420t/hr coal fired boilers with two 50MW turbo generators.
